TOOTHBRUSING:
Poor braces hygiene often stems from irregular, insufficient, or improper brushing techniques. Therefore, simply adapting to small changes can significantly enhance oral health:
Brushing twice a day is obviously not enough; unwilling members of the “brace-wearing club” should brush before bedtime and after every meal (even snack time).
Each brushing session should last at least 2 minutes. Be gentle yet thorough when brushing your braces, folks.
Remember to meticulously brush in crucial areas such as along the gumline, behind the archwire, and around the brackets to remove food particles and plaque buildup.
Gently pressing the bristles against the gums will provide a soothing massage and maintain their health.
Brushing in circular motions on all tooth surfaces and brushing vertically from the gum towards the tooth is crucial. Horizontal brushing can lead to enamel erosion.
Opt for a toothbrush with soft bristles and a small head. Even if you use an electric toothbrush, adhere to these rules for truly clean teeth.
