Department of wound hygiene at home:

  • Postoperative self-care instruction sheet

At-home postoperative self-care instruction:

  • Clean: Keep the incision away from water for the first 3 days after surgery, then able to shower but no scrub and soap on the incision. Keep the incision dry after showering.
  • No bathtub for 1 month, no sauna, no steam bath, or spray the incision directly with a showerhead.
  • Apply medication: apply Povidine to incision and rinse with saline, then pat dry with gauze twice a day.
  • Change bandage daily.
  • Specialized compression clothes for 30 days to help reduce swelling and promote quick recovery.
