If you have ever undergone orthodontic treatment at Worldwide – a high-tech dental hospital or watched the High-Tech Dentistry program on VTV9, you might already be familiar with Dr. Nguyen Mong Dang Kieu.

Dr. Kieu is currently working at Worldwide Hospital, specializing in orthodontics, which is also the passion of this young doctor.

A small doctor with an extraordinary mind

At first glance, Dr. Nguyen Mong Dang Kieu appears just like any other Vietnamese woman – petite, not very tall, and with a gentle voice. Notably, she always wears a friendly smile and tends to be quite reserved during the first meetings.

However, hidden beneath that petite appearance lies an extraordinary mind with the determination of this female doctor. Setting aside her graduation as a Doctor of Dental Surgery in France and her continuing medical education certificates, at Worldwide Hospital, Dr. Kieu consistently takes on the most challenging cases, bringing perfect smiles to countless clients and patients.

A recent typical case: orthodontic treatment for Trong Thien

Trong Thien came to Worldwide Hospital with quite a unique dental condition: two impacted incisors embedded in the bone plus four extra incisors.
When he first visited Dr. Kieu at Worldwide Hospital, he was in a state of despair. He shared: “My dental case is really difficult. I have consulted numerous dental clinics and hospitals from North to South, but no one accepted my case. Many advised me to get porcelain crowns, but I refused because I wanted to preserve as much of my natural teeth as possible through orthodontic treatment. Several dentists, including those in the North, recommended I try Dr. Do Dinh Hung – founder of Worldwide Hospital.”

Thus, Thien decided to give Worldwide Hospital a try as his last resort. If unsuccessful, he would accept his teeth as they were.

Remarkably, after taking X-rays and undergoing examinations, Dr. Kieu decided to take on Thien’s case. “When Dr. Kieu planned and accepted my case, I couldn’t believe it because I had been rejected so many times before,” Thien explained further.

Yet, she did not back down in the face of his complex dental condition or skepticism. Dr. Kieu invested significant time in researching and thoroughly explaining the treatment plan to Thien, convincing him to trust her and believe in the smile he deserved.

Now, after more than three years of orthodontic treatment with Dr. Kieu, Thien is nearing his desired results. Thien’s story is just one of many among the numerous patients Dr. Kieu has treated during her career.

She has never turned down a case of impacted or complex teeth. “Every case has a solution,” Dr. Nguyen Mong Dang Kieu shared. “If I cannot come up with the best treatment plan on my own, I will discuss it with my colleagues in the department and possibly consult with Dr. Hung as well.”

It all stems from passion

It’s unclear why she is so passionate about her field, but Dr. Kieu firmly believes that passion is what drives her to overcome the difficulties and challenges in her profession. No one can be truly smart or talented if they do not love what they do.

For each client and patient, she meticulously takes photographs to document their cases, studying each patient thoroughly to ensure the best possible results. This isn’t just a “responsibility” for her; it is simply her passion. As Tran Le Duc, a client treated with Invisalign by Dr. Kieu, shared, “Because I often missed appointments and didn’t wear the braces as planned, I was always afraid of seeing Dr. Kieu. She would always find out and know for sure that I was falling behind schedule.”

Being a doctor, her passion lies in the cases she treats. No matter how challenging, seeing the progress and the positive results in her patients brings her indescribable joy. It is also the motivation that fuels her passion, helping her grow daily, refine her skills weekly, and accumulate experience year by year.

The hope for Vietnam’s dentistry to reach global standards

“When I went to France for my studies, I was fortunate to experience their advanced dental practices. I dreamed of building a progressive dental clinic like that in the future. It felt like destiny when I first arrived in Saigon and was accepted to work at Dr. Hung and Associates Dental Center (now Worldwide Hospital). I was amazed to find that it exceeded my expectations. Five years have passed, and the clinic has become a hospital I can proudly say rivals any developed country in terms of technology,” shares Dr. Nguyen Mong Dang Kieu.

However, neither she nor her colleagues plan to rest on their laurels. Dr. Hung has devoted his entire life to establishing Worldwide Hospital, and she intends to continue this legacy. By treating patients and clients, they aim to provide a trusted, high-quality place where people can achieve the perfect smiles they desire.

Additionally, she will continuously hone her skills, staying updated with the latest techniques and advanced technologies from around the world to apply them in Vietnam. This effort helps the vietnamese denistry advance continually, ensuring that the people can safely receive top-notch treatment comparable to that in other countries. Moreover, it can attract international clients to Vietnam for their dental needs, boosting the economy.

Although it may seem “far-fetched,” the reality is that since its establishment, Worldwide Hospital has treated clients from over 49 countries. This is a significant milestone that enables Dr. Kieu and her colleagues to continue providing the best dental care for the people of Vietnam.
